Designed for two

2 Player Raid Tycoon by STRAY FRAME puts partners on opposite sides of a shared factory fantasy: one economy, two sets of pads, and a server full of rival duos. You can solo a plot, but the game sings when roles are intentional. This hub explains builder, raider, and defender jobs, how to rotate them, and how solo players can fake a duo with smart automation pads.

New to the place? Start with Getting Started and redeem codes before you argue about who gets the Shotgun.

Role 1 — Builder

Goal: Maximize legitimate income and unlock pads without bankrupting defense.

Core tasks:

  • Place free Dropper after every rebirth.
  • Rush Automatic Dropper and belt / upgrader chains (Factory Building).
  • Bank Auto Collect (~$25k) so teammates are not glued to the green pad.
  • Call cash totals before big buys (Uplink, Minigun pad, laser stacks).
  • Schedule rebirth when belts plateau, not mid-raid.

Builder mindset: every dollar has an opportunity cost. A vanity gun that delays Auto Collect hurts the whole duo. Use the Tier List so weapon spends match the stage.

Role 2 — Defender

Goal: Make power-down raids fail.

Core tasks:

  • Buy walls (~$1k) and laser doors (~$2.5k) on vault approaches (How to Defend).
  • Roll Guard Tickets from codes and shop; park strong pulls (up through TRIANGLE) on chokes.
  • Aim turrets at entrances as rebirth unlocks them.
  • First rotate when entrance power is shot — abandon Hill / Oddball if the Safe is screaming.
  • Keep a hallway gun (Shotgun / SMG) in a Loadout Cabinet slot.

Defender mindset: you are the reason the builder can AFK a treadmill. If both partners love raiding, explicitly assign who stays home each push.

Role 3 — Raider

Goal: Convert guns into bags without feeding mirror steals.

Core tasks:

  • Scout soft targets; cut entrance power; Crack the Safe; deliver at YOUR Safe door (How to Raid).
  • Carry Airstrike charges from codes for contested vaults.
  • Abort when the defender pings trouble at home.
  • Prefer Shotgun interiors + rifle/Sniper exteriors per stage.
  • Bank stolen cash into shared priorities the builder names.

Raider mindset: greed wipes duos. One clean bag that funds a laser beats three deaths outside a bunker.

Template A — Classic split (best default)

  • Partner 1: Builder + part-time Defender
  • Partner 2: Primary Raider
  • Rule: Raider only leaves after lasers are online

Template B — Twin anchors

  • Both build early together for 15 minutes
  • Then alternate who raids each five-minute window
  • Rule: Never both mid-map during Double Cash if vault is rich

Template C — Siege pair (high risk)

  • Both raid the same hardened target after stacking Airstrikes
  • Accept that a third duo may hit your open base
  • Rule: Only after turrets + multiple guards are placed (they persist through rebirth)

Template D — Staggered rebirth

  • Partner A rebirths and rebuilds under turret cover
  • Partner B stays mature, injects raid cash, holds defense
  • Swap next cycle
  • Rule: Call the green Rebirth button out loud before confirming

Communication cheatsheet

Call these clearly (voice or chat):

  • “Power down on us” — defender rotates now
  • “Bag secured” — raider extracting
  • “Rebirthing” — expect soft side for a few minutes
  • “Saving for Uplink / $5M” — no impulse Minigun
  • “Tickets rolled” — new guard needs placement

Silent duos lose vaults during events. Events and patch toys are tracked on Updates.

Solo tips (when matchmaking fails)

Solo is slower but workable:

  1. Redeem every code; prioritize ticket + cash drops.
  2. Automatic Dropper → walls → laser → Auto Collect before long map walks.
  3. Place at least two guards before your first serious raid.
  4. Take short raids only; cancel extract if you hear trouble you cannot see.
  5. Rebirth only when kept turrets/guards make the rebuild safe.
  6. Skip contested Oddball / Hill unless your vault is empty and worthless.

Think of Auto Collect + turrets as your “missing partner.” Scripts are not a substitute — read the risk notes on Scripts if you were tempted.

Social / lobby etiquette

  • Do not pad-block your partner’s clearly marked side purchases.
  • Share code awareness — one partner redeeming while the other skips TY7500 is free misery.
  • Avoid team-killing experiments near the Safe during a crack defense.
  • If you must leave mid-session, say so; an AFK open vault is community charity.

Progress checkpoints for duos

CheckpointHealthy sign
15 minutesAutomatic Dropper + first laser
40 minutesAuto Collect online or imminent
Pre-R1Uplink owned, $5M plan clear, guards placed
Post-R1Sniper in a loadout slot, belts rebuilt under turret cover
R3+Minigun pad planned without stripping lasers

If checkpoints slip, stop blaming “bad raids” and audit builder spend.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What is the best co-op role split?

Default to one builder/defender hybrid and one primary raider. Alternate raids once lasers and Auto Collect are online.

Can I play effectively solo?

Yes, but prioritize Automatic Dropper, walls, laser doors, Auto Collect, and guards before long raids. Keep runs short so you can answer vault threats.

Should both partners rebirth at once?

Usually no. Stagger so one mature side funds and defends while the other rebuilds under kept turrets and guards.

Who should redeem codes?

Both accounts should redeem personal codes. Coordinate so 2x Cash windows line up with running production on each side.

What gun should each role carry?

Raiders want Shotgun plus a rifle/Sniper. Defenders want Shotgun/SMG for hallways. See the Tier List for stage details.
